Primates Characteristics and specialty and how they evolved and became the supreme species currently leading the expeditions of Planet Earth. Their Brain development, Hands and Feet, Shoulders and Hips we have talked about this stuff in the Blog.
The aforementioned is one of the most fundamental topics of biology. Anyone should know about this and no matter to which field you belong to.
According to Collins dictionary, the Primates are members of mammals Group, including Humans, Monkeys, and Apes.
There are more than 300 species of the Primates.
Here I am not talking about predator vs. prey survival. This survival is all about becoming the species that is ruling over the world. We survived because we belonged to the Primates category. Now we are all set to become the multi-Planet species.
But how did we achieve this feast?
It is because of almost everything we have inside us.
The hands, Shoulders, brain, and the five senses that we have.
As for the part of Humans, we are not just any other mammals and Primates. We are the Supreme of Primates.
If our Cortex was just one inch smaller than the average size, there was also no evolution in us.
Human evolution changed the world through the Study, and we studied and invented more and more. As a result, we have unparallel progress than the other species.
Primates Characteristics and Specialities
In this Blog, we are discussing the unique features inside the Primates.
Hands and Feet of the Primates
We have already mentioned that Bipedalism created a pathway of evolution and how it was necessary for us.
When our early ancestors started working on how to finish their hunger, they started roaming in the forest. When they saw that the fruits were hanging on the top branches of trees, they learned how to climb the tree. It developed the grip of hands, whether it is for eating fruits or food, whether it is for wielding a weapon or to drive the vehicle.
Ancestor primates offered the gift of grip to us. As fully evolved sapiens, we have different variations of grips.
We can eat the food with forks and chopsticks. We can type on keyboards and use the mouse to control the moment of a cursor. This is not possible with other mammals.
Not just this, but we also have sensitivity in touch. Because of this touch of sensitivity, we can distinguish between a ripe mango and an unripe one. Not just this, there are many more applications that you can configure.
Shoulders and Hips
Primates are blessed with flexible shoulders and hip joints. Imagine us not having the shoulders we have. We can throw rocks and spears because of the flexibility of the shoulder. Ever seen a mammal doing push-ups? No other mammal than a primate can do such a thing (Although not all Primates can do this, the majority can)
Hip joints allow us to achieve a different range of motion in the legs. That is why we can rope jump and climb the stairs. Because of this hip joint, we can do crunches and Lunge exercises.
Primates – Brain
We Primates are more intelligent and fast learners than the other mammals; we have giant brains compared to our body size. We also have a better memory capacity. That is why you can see that If a monkey is playing with the Rubik cube, he will probably get more curious than a cheetah.
Alongside the evolution, our brain size also increased. The prefrontal cortex inside us is more prominent than other Primates,
Don’t confuse with Primates and humans. We are the species of Primates, and Primates are the members of the Mammalian Group. There are 300 more species other than us and we humans are the species of Primates.
