What is Anthropology, and Why should you Study it?
What is rational thinking? It is the ability to think and believe in something with logic and appropriate facts. But what are the Facts? And how can we establish them? The question is simple, but it took 500 years of research to settle the fact that Earth has Gravity, and more than 700 years needed to establish the fact that the Earth is not flat.
But life is full of positives and negatives. Suppose there is rational behavior in human psychology. In that case, there is also Irrational thinking in some people, just like some people still believe that the Earth is Flat. Some people before Kepler believed that Angels are flapping their wings just to set Planets in motion.
Anthropology is the Database of our stupidity and Intellectual prowess. It is the mirror of almost everything. It is like Bran from Game of Thrones, the Three-eyed raven theory from the well-known Game of Thrones TV series.
It is the study of what makes us humans and the study of our behavior. How it is changed and what is the current status of our humankind Progress.
What is Biological Anthropology?
We all know that our ancestors were Apes but do you know, how do we know this? Thanks to the Biological Anthropology. Whatever an Evolutionary Biologist does in his or her research life is part of Biological Anthropology.
Biological Anthropology is the study of the Extinction and Evolution of our biological ancestors.
What is Creationism?
As per Holy Bible Old Testament, First Book of Moses: Genesis, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the Earth, The Earth was formless and empty, and darkness covered the deep waters. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters. Then God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.”
This is the Creationism. It is an idea that came out of religious belief, that every aspect of nature, biological form, and the Material world went out of the Divine Entity called “GOD.”
Almost everything in this world is because of God’s might and not because of any other external means or the forces or evolutionary aspects. They are there just because God wanted them there. This is Creationism.
Charles Darwin – Superman of the Biological Anthropology Universe
According to Bible, Noah’s Exploration was Superior and Important for the next generations. Before the Charles Darwin theory, everyone believed that We are the descendants of Adam and Eve. But one day, a 22 years old boy visited Galapagos Island.
He curiously saw the different varieties of animals near the shore of the sea. Then his explorations started, and at this stage, he is the most superior and important Noah for all of us who live in the Modern world. That boy was Charles Darwin.
This entire chapter will talk about how Anthropology should be studied and how it changed our perspective. In some further blogs, we will also try to explain how Charles Darwin theory changed the world in biology, anthropology, and philosophy. How Godly creation ideas were challenged by this man and how it changed the perspective of upcoming studies.
Creationism Vs. Science
In the 17th Century, James Ussher calculated the date of Creation. He studied Bible, and after doing intensive research on the Genesis Chapters in the Old Testaments of the Bible, he figured the exact date of Creation. It was 22 October 4004 BCE. Well, as he was the Archbishop of Church. It is evident for him to believe in Creationism.
Darwin faced massive problems proving his point in front of the people because Christianity was the major religion at his place. They all believed that We are the Descendants of Adam and Eve. It was astonishing for the church that a man came from his long trip and said that, no, we are the children of Apes instead of Adam and Eve. We will discuss this in upcoming blogs.
Creationism – Evolution of Earth
When Darwin came up with his theories, he calculated that Earth must be 300 million years old because this is the most sensible time for completing the Evolution of Biological Processes. According to him, from Microbes to Mammals and From Apes to Humans, it should have taken at least 300 million years.
Later on, in 1953, Clair Patterson, a Geochemist who studied some ancient meteorites, concluded that the Earth is at least 4 billion years old, and his research was globally acceptable. Whereas Universe is 14 billion years old.
But according to Biblical Scripture, God Created the Creation in just 6 Days. There were no dinosaurs, and there was no evolution at all. God Just said, “Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us. They will reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock, all the wild animals on the Earth, and the small animals that scurry along the ground.”
In the 27th Verse of the Bible, it is mentioned that, So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God, he created them; male and female, he created them.
This clearly states that Creationism and Science debate was inevitable. As for this stage, Science holds Strong grounds because Dinosaur fossils are discovered by Archaeologists. Archaeology is also part of Anthropology.
