Neanderthals or Sapiens
So today, we are going to discuss our Ancestors, Neanderthals or Sapiens. Why do Neanderthals not exist? Whose Descendents are we and also Who were Neanderthals?
Don’t confuse yourself because science is never confusing. We are not descended from Adam and Eve. Our ancestors were so disconnected and religiously different, but scientifically we all have the same ancestors.
Consider this as a team match.
Some thousand years ago, there were two species, existed on the face of this planet earth. Neanderthals and Sapiens.
You must have heard the word Sapiens, or at least you know from your primary school books that we are Homo sapiens.
So, what question arises in your mind?
I know because I had the same question in my mind when I wanted to learn about our history.
You must be confused with Who these Neanderthals are and who these Sapiens are.

Sapiens Vs. Neanderthals
So, Neanderthals lived in Europe and Asia two hundred thousand years ago. In some areas, they lived even more so for rounding off the figure. We can say that they were available in some regions thirty thousand years ago.
Well, it is very fascinating to think about how Archaeologists research this stuff. You don’t even remember your great Grandparent’s brother’s name. Look how far these people are gone with their research; now we know about our Past. We also know where and when everything about our evolution happened.
Our happy ancestors Sapiens originated in Africa during the last two hundred and fifty thousand years ago. They spread all over in last sixty thousand years ago.
But our ancestors were more of a family man. But Neanderthals were hunters, and they had more extraordinary survival instincts than our ancestors.
Why do Neanderthals not exist?
It is undeniable to assume that there was a great conflict and clashes between Neanderthals and Sapiens. There is a difference between being smart and being cunning. Sapiens were cunning, just like Loki.
There was also a competition between these two species. By looking at today’s world, we can safely assume that our ancestors were the winners.
Another thing of concern is interbreeding, the mating between Sapiens and Neanderthals. But on the contrary, Sapiens were dominant in this interbreeding, and as a result, Neanderthals faced extinction.
Whose Descendents are we
Twenty years ago, we didn’t have a clear answer for this question, but today we can firmly believe that Sapiens were our ancestors.
But yes, we cannot ignore the real possibility of having the Neanderthal DNA inside us.
Because interbreeding between Neanderthals and sapiens offered the partial DNA of Neanderthals inside us. But the contribution of Neanderthal DNA is surprisingly tiny.
Who were these Neanderthals?
They were shorter and Thicker than us. Shoulders were 8% larger than today’s humans. The bones structure near their forearm was so strong that they could even crush down the bones of other sapiens just by gripping their hands.
Their Skull was denser than today’s human, and Brain’s shape was larger than ours.
We still need to thank Neanderthals because, as previously mentioned, we still have the part of their DNA inside us. Only because of that do we have something special inside us, something unique that fights against the pathogens inside our body. Yes, because of them, we have the gift of Immunity.
Only because of them do we have the strong-smelling senses.
We smell because of them.
Neanderthals mostly lived in European areas, and everyone knows the winters of Europe.
In that ancient era, the winters were heavy, and I want you to try and analyze your breathing pattern in winter and summer. You will see that you struggle the most in winter than in summer.
Because of this, Neanderthals had big and broader noses than us.
